October 17, 2008, Newsletter Issue #86: Transfering Photos from Your Digital Camera to Your Computer

Tip of the Week

Transferring photos from your digital camera to your computer really isn't that complicated. It may seem a bit daunting at first, but once you do it, you will see just how easy it is!

First, your digital camera comes with instructions. It is highly recommended that you read these instructions, especially those that fall under the category of "downloading photos to your computer" or something similar to that. Once you have read these instructions, it is time to give transferring photos a shot.

You should have been instructed to connect your camera to your computer using a USB cable. This will be your first step. If you do not already have your USB cable set up, do so. Then connect your camera to the USB port once the cable is plugged in.

After this, your computer should be able to tell when your camera is connected to the USB cable. The computer will respond with a camera icon for you to click on. You can even view your digital pictures in thumbnail size or full size by clicking on the picture. Once you have viewed the pictures you wish to save, your computer will allow you to save the picture to whichever file you choose and you will be allowed to name the picture. You simply click "OK" and follow the prompts by your computer.

It's an easy task if you follow your digital camera instructions and have all of the hardware needed for transferring photos from your digital camera.
